Avengers 2 #5: All action, very little substance. It has an interesting roster but for the most part the dialogue is rubbish, some of the characters who have a lot of potential are portrayed badly (see british hulk, he follows the law of american media that all British people must use specific phrases and throw places in like Hackney to show this is "authentic british", it's still a part of London you tossers). Action is fun but not worth my money fun.
New Avengers #2: Contrary to what other reviews may say (see IGN) I really like this series, yes, I read the original volume but for a starter arc for this group, I'm enjoying it. Of course I want it to start on some new stuff soon but the fact that it's relating to the magic stuff which happened in the last volume during the dark reign period isn't such a bad thing. The dynamic is good, some of the new blood like the thing still need a moment to shine but there is potential.
New Ultimates #3: Let me first point out that Avengers 2 and this title are things MY BROTHER bought, not trying to sway your opinions of me on this in anyway. Okay the little story going on with thor in the underworld may, in the future, provide an interesting story with a unique villain for the team. The rest of it feels like I've been here before.. OH WAIT I have, flashbacks and villains both from "The Ultimates 2" and I swear the ending from it is too. Also this Tony Stark is annoying.
Thunderbolts #146: I like this series a lot. I can say I am becoming more confident with the fact that it's to do with the team and not because of the series prior poor stories. The incidents from the end of last issue just like the issue before are conclded quickly. Walker who is now the rafts warden shines through. The cases keep getting better and the ending has an interesting character dynamic which could lead to cool times in the issue to come.
The Walking Dead #75: After the last issue ending, the start did surprise me but the series as a whole surprise me. Rick is very much the focus in this story and his values clash with the system. To be honest, a question arose in my mind; "has Rick not learnt from the prison?". The great thing is the line has blurred since the start of this comic, not anyone is who they seem anymore.
OOH plus shots of the cast for the new series!!!
Welcome to tranquility, one foot in the grave #1: Right, I read the welcome to tranquility series years ago. I was going though a wildstorm mood and read midnighter, some wildcats and authority, mr majestic and others. most stopped or never got finished but I remember with fondness.
quick series explanation, this is the town where the heroes and villains go to retire, a nice humble community with its main protagonist being its sheriff. If you have not read the original series, I would seriously not recommend reading this, everything is a link to what happened in first volume of WtT. anyway, it got off to a slow start, some boring dialogue, the front cover spoils the ending and there was very little action but I'm going to see for some more issues.
